Elis expands fleet of clean vehicles

At the beginning of July, ten electric vans were delivered to three Elis centres in France, adding to the Group's clean car fleet*.

In order to reduce the impact of our vehicles on the environment and in line with our CSR (Corporate Social responsibility) objectives for 2025, our Strasbourg, Bourget and Echirolles centres have opted to make the transition towards transport that is cleaner, more sustainable and more responsible.

To mark the occasion and celebrate the arrival of these new vehicles, activities and training courses have been offered to employees at these centres.

These vehicles are now easily identifiable on the road as they bear the message:

"
I'm driving electric!"

Our objective for 2025 is to significantly increase our number of eco-friendly vehicles while simultaneously seeking to reduce the fuel consumption of combustion engine vehicles, improve our fleet management tools, promote eco-driving and maximise the fill rate of our trucks.

This approach is enshrined in our CSR policy, which is based around three pillars:

  • Manage our societal impact
  • Continuously reduce the environmental footprint of our business and be a positive force for change
  • Ensure the well-being of our employees

Did you know? Over their entire life cycle, electric vehicles produce two to six times less pollution than combustion engine vehicles. Thanks to Elis electric vehicles, CO2 emissions are reduced by 13 tonnes per vehicle, per year

This is an opportunity for the Group to test electric technology, to help identify whether the trade-off between mileage and weight loading (which is a key issue for Elis) makes it worth considering wider deployment. This is an important new milestone for the Group, which now has 20 hybrid vehicles, 14 electric vehicles and 3 natural gas vehicles… and isn't planning on stopping there!

*A clean vehicle is a vehicle that produces few or zero emissions when in use. These emissions are calculated per load unit transported (or per person), per kilometre.
